Autumn Makeup Inspired by J. Mendel’s Fall 2012 Runway Show

There is something extraordinarily soft while still allowing for strong features in this photograph of a model as she prepares for J. Mendel’s Fall 2012 Runway Show.

We are loving the luminous and flawless skin; the dark and structured brows; the hint of color on the cheeks; and, the matte color on her lips.

The luminosity on the lids of the eyes also works to continue that dewiness which will forever send any woman over the age of 22 to the stores to empty a credit card while in search of “dewey”.

My tried and true, forever faithful (well, I do test products, so I try others) product and stand by is Giorgio Armani’s Fluid Sheer. I have one in every color and the moment I run out, I find a way (delivery) to have it send directly to my door. The stuff works, over, under and by itself.

If I need to add a touch more of luminosity then I reach in our baby’s drawer and pull out the Aquaphor. Makeup artists love this cream for a reason. It can be used on nails, skin, feet, eyes, brows…just a little and your skin will look more alive.

The look will work on any skin-tone…just lighten the brow pencil depending on the blond in your hair. And with rich and matte lipsticks, always use a lip brush. Layering colors works best.

We’ve picked a few of our favorite products to help you achieve the look;

  1. Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer #02 in Shimmering Beige. Available at Giorgio Armani.
  2. Josie Maran’s Cream Blush in Sunrise-Soft Pink (a perfect combination of coral and pink;
  3. Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Amsterdam
  4. Josie Maran’s Cream Blush in Sunrise-Soft Pink (a perfect combination of coral and pink;
  5. Tom Ford’s Eye Color Quad in Burnished Amber and Tom Ford’s Beauty Brow Sculptor in Chestnut;
  6. Clinique’s Brush-On Cream Liner in Black;
  7. and, Diorshow Black Out Mascara by Dior.
